milano 2 big problems! one called MAFIA (Calabrese, Sicilian, Chinese, Neapolitan) and the other called ITALY, Milan is one of the most taxed city in the world! because this city is facing the expense of other regions of Italy for a century in crisis and managed by incompetent and mobsters, how can 'to compete with cities like London and Paris?? here the economy holds up to hardship! and the money for street furniture and public gardens is little!

Please! It's true that Lombardy contributes with an higher percentage, but all regions give the money to the central government, and in turn, Rome redistributes to all local government authorities. The problem of the mafia don't goes to hinder the problem of urban decor... if anything you should talk of mismanagement. Don't hide behind excuses. You should ask yourself, for example, what happened to all the money that has "eaten" the former president of the Lombardy Region, Mr. Formigoni and his Junta of Regional Council (People of Freedom Party, "owned" by Silvio Berlusconi, a man from Milan that created his fortune, "just for a case" with the collusion with Mafia). Not to mention the Northern League Party, for 20 years has only spoken of: federalism (that has never failed to implement, because its parliamentarians like to sit in the Italian Parliament and receive a good salaries every month and "gold" retirements) and badly of the "thieving Rome" and so on... then a few years ago, all scandals have come out. Blaming other parts of Italy doesn't make sense. However, for the cities of other countries, not all that glitters is gold.

I panni sporchi si lavano in casa. Vergogna. Il problema dell'Italia è la gente provinciale come te.

Please don't consider the gross post above that's completely off topic. Let's get back in topic.

shame?? but at least you know what we're talking about?? Italy has a 55% tax burden! do you know how services could be achieved through less taxes? many parks clean and tidy? urban decent? not to mention that the northern Italy has a lower rate of tax evasion below the European average, while the south?!?!? we look at things as they are and do not live in another world! the whole world needs to know when it is oppressed the people of Lombardy and Milan! just think that the residue of Lombardy tax is 17% of GDP, the city such as London is 6.7, ile de france 4.4 bayern 3.5 and the other regions of Italy? those in the south have an average of - 16% of these are not fantasies!

Utter bullsh*t.

Milan prevented from thriving like London or Paris for any of the reason you account is pretty silly.
