Milan can have some, but they must not have too many, nor should it be too tall.
Anyway, it is nice they are getting some modern buildings, quite a contrast though.

Think italy will win 2010?

See Andrew in Milan we are realizing a lot of skyscraper over 100 meters.

Il Dritto 220 m.
Torre Hines 215 m.
Milanone 212 m.
Storto 190 m.
Milanofiori sud 2 tower 180 m. high
Curvo 170 m
Altra sede 161 m
Varesine 1 150 m.
Varesine 2 140 m.

and goes on...

Are you from SA? Which cities Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth...Which one?

All skyscrapers in Milan are U/C or approved (see Varesine) but Milanone (212 m) and Summus (150 m) not yet.

No, but is one of countries that I would visit in particular Cape Town. I saw it on TV and is absolutely fantastic. A wonderful city in a wonderful landscape.

I think Cape is best city in SA. I saw other WC cities and there are some boring and not interesting city (see Nelspruit or Polokwane).

SA is one of my planned trips but I don't think to visit it in WC period. Too chaos, too many people and I think is hard to see the real South Africa.

But the argument is il dritto in Citylife, so stop speaking about my projects

If there's a city in Italy where skyscrapers are appropriate, this is Milan!
Outside the city center it's plenty of quite anonymous buldings (with some exceptions, obviously, like Pirelli, Central Station, San Siro stadium and some more), so modern architecture can be the key to characterize some zones and create new points of interest!

In cities like Rome, Florence, Venice (or the majority of typical small Italian towns) skyscrapers risk to became "a fist in an eye"...
But Milan is totally adapt for this kind of construction!
Moreover Milan is totally flat, so it's also impossible to ruin a panorama view from a higher point of view (like it could be in Rome or Florence)!

Other "suitable" cities for skyscrapers in my opinion are Turin and Genoa!
