These are only a few highlights, I will add more projects soon! As you can see, a lot of residential towers under construction and planned. Rotterdam currently has the tallest building in The Netherlands with 152m and will keep the title with one of 165m being U/C and one of 171m planned.

Also a few megatowers are planned near the central station (170m and 220m) but no impressions yet!

Hope you like our projects and this overview.

What a great overview Skybridge! And those projects are just the beginning, think about what still has to come, Lijnbaan, Central Station area, Port au Vin, Westblaak, Hofplein, Coolsingel, etc!

some nice towers / projects..... but I wouldn't call 220m a "megatower"..... in global terms I think you'd have to wait for at least a 350m+ tower to call it "mega-tall"...

would be interesting to see an aerial pic of Rotterdam's CBD.....

Unfortunately, towers over 300m will never happen in The Netherlands, or at least not in the next twenty years. Our current tallest buildings are 152m, 150m and 140m so you can imagine we have our own "scale" of highrises here. That doesn't make it less impressive, and that DOES make 220m a "megatower" for a city this size.

Rotterdam doesn't have a CBD by the way, most highrises are residential. You can see some pictures here:

I was in Rotterdam two days ago and was really impressed by the city. There are so many really unique buildings all over the city and cranes are everywhere.

Indeed, if all the projects (which are still being worked on) will be approved, this chart could be easily dubbled.

I just love it!

It's one of the few residential towers with huge windows, water all around it and the quite explicit colour perrfectly fits with neighbouring objects, like the Red Willemsbrug and the Red lightboat. In combination with all other white/grey buildings it makes the contrast in balance.
It could just have been some 50 metres higher!;-)
