Indeed, there is one near me in fact (A30 in Egham) but I hadn't thought about that because it doesn't flash. The one in Egham only works for a couple of hours in the morning and afternoon.

I like the Rio designs the best. Some of the others have weird and/or simply confusing designs.

New traffic lights in Lithuania, Kaunas city Šiaurės pr. - Ukmergės g. crossing, according new traffic lights rules.

In the main road each traffic direction has two traffic lights. For straight and turning right directions without arrows because turning right is not safe. Turning left has its own traffic lights with arrows.

Pedestrians traffic lights get green signal 1 s earlier than turning traffic to give preference for pedestrians.

Working of traffic lights:

Bystreets traffic lights:

In the crossing because of traffic safety there is no signs with green arows, that allow to turn right on red, as were usually in old crossings in Lithuania.

If you look closer, you will see the red and amber light having only outlines of arrows, whereas green light have lit on arrow only, not surroundings. I guess there is a norm for this, since it does not mind if you overlook green light, but it might be a big trouble if you do not notice red light.

Same here in Slovakia and Czech rep. I have noticed it in many countries. Maybe it is based on something international.

In Europe we have Vienna Convention on Road Traffic (1968) and European Agreement supplementing the Convention on road traffic opened for signature at Vienna (1971). They allow black arrows on red, green, amber lights, but also red, amber and green arrows on black backgorund. What I don't like - black empty arrows, because in the darkness they are almost invisble. We use black full arrows because they are better to notice.

I've researched world's signals with arrows:
