Many thanks, Blue Milkyway. Baria has changed so much that I lost my way the last time I was there. A four-lane street replaced a small dirt road that runs through what used to be my family's farm. Man, I wish we still have that farm.

there's one thing about vungtau i'm not sure if anyone notices, is the small French section near front beach. That part of the city reminded me so much of good old district 3 in saigon in the early 80s when I was growing up.

tall tall trees line the quiet streets with french villas along the sides. Saigon still has that in district 3......but too much tall tube houses now replacing the old french villas.....and the streets are so crowded.
the first time i came back to vung tau i walked around the French area, it felt so nice, so quiet, low low 2-3 storeys buildings, almost like i'm back to good old saigon in the french colonial time a hundred year ago.
school children in their uniforms lined up to enter the school, every now and then only 1 or 2 scooters or cars passing on the streets.......you could practically walk in the street. I hope they expand saigon so they can return district 3 back to the old days.

the heat was very strong, but in the french section under those big big trees you just want to hang a hammock somewhere and sleep, so peaceful and romantic.
but at night it's dead......i still love the saigon nightlife

Yes yes but in Vung Tau now hasn't got so much French's villa than before because they were destroyed for building new houses, for ex look at PetroVietNam Towers ,the foundation of it used to have 2 villas but people had removed it for building a highrise building

Mấy bác thông củm thằng em xách máy đi chụp biệt thự cổ ở VT mà ko biết lóng ngóng sao nhấn vào cái nút chụp hình bự nên bây giờ đưa nên đây chắc nó choáng hết diện tích quá---> đợi thằng em đi chụp lại nha
