Maybe it has something to do with the Vienna Conventions on road traffic & road signs. I'm not sure which countries agreed to that convention, and which didn't.

Great highways! I know that China didn't sign for it. But the convention allowed both N.American and European types of markings/roadsigns. I don't know why L.America (excuding Mexico, Brazil and ?Argentina?) has Euro markings and N.A signs, possibly for diplomatic reasons.

Because Chile has adopted this format (european) for the highways, wich are administered by spanish companies. But, the secondary roads have the american format.

It has no relation that SOME of the highways are run by spanish companies with the fact that Chile as a country has adopted de european format. The companies don't have anything to do with it, it is the government who is in charge of regulating this.
And the secondary roads have the american format just because there is a special regulations for private operated highways.

Road on first video is incredible empty? How expensive Chilean roads are?

Does anyone have pictures from main north south highway especially from Santiago down to Chiloe Island?

Is it freeway all the way of just dual carriageway?

Whereabouts were these two taken? That locomotive is one of nine that Fepasa bought from a local railroad in my area (Wisconsin Central) several years ago. And lot of the local rail enthusiasts and railroaders here really do miss them.

Excellent highways - the surface in particular looks great.

Is there commuter rail in the median, in addition to the freight in the photos?
