Zelly, you should have received a notice from the City of Sydney in the mail yesterday about this. As they are contacting locals and Cul spotted it a month ago, it should be on the CofS Development site quite soon. Xmas etc seems to have slowed the processing of the application up a bit, of course.
I'm hanging out for the the tower on O'Dea/Sth Dowling and the next DA for Lot 205 here at Vic Park. |

Wed: it's there today, but it's a Stage 1 DA so not final design. Suspect they'll be pushing their luck with the huge increase in units over the 2005 approved development. Architect is still Stanisic which is good, but it will depend on how much Meriton interferes with the design and materials, etc, once approval is achieved. The folk at the southern end of Victoria Park are going to be pissed and rather wondering whether they should have been so stroppy & nitpicking about the early design proposal which didn't go above 8 storeys with all the other buildings lower than those now proposed.

Just out of interest, what was the original number of units? I've noticed Building A is no longer commercial, would that be the extra number of units?

^its been quiet but all starts up this week with CSPC and council meetings.
I did see more models in the vic park area but they were scale 1;1000 and we rejected them. ha. it says on DA requirments, models have to be 1;500.and they can have others if they want. the models seem to have eastern dist running down its length, so its those blocks south of cardy site. ill try get pic tommorrow

Thanks, Cul.
Pics 1 & 2 are of the so-called "Dolina Site" that has been going back and forth for years and originally proposed a 30 storey tower on the Link Road, triangular site; the tower has gradually shrunk over the years as CSPC has knocked back each proposal. Last time the development was identified as DA 2005/1340. The post-it on the top of the case in pic 3 shows a new DA: 2008/102. I checked it and it is for the Dolina Site and is "being assessed" - has an indicated cost of $233m!! Pic 3 is puzzling as it is of the superceded block model of Victoria Park of some years ago so I'm not sure why it is back in the picture or why it has the post-it on it. It doesn't show the updated designs for Lot 205 and the Audi HQ on the NE corner of Lot 206, nor the one for Lot 303. The Dolina 67-77 Epsom development is south of this area. Thank you again. i think the old model is to be picked up. the most recent has to be redone to larger scale.
maybe that explains it. cheers

I like the Link Rd development. The park in the middle is lovely. Good focal point for the development.
Cul, do you know what is happening in regards to the proposed Hillsong Church and office building in Waterloo? ![]()

There is a big local uprising against it, Fabian, and as a result, there is a community meeting hosted by Clover, scheduled before the CSPC meeting which is provisionally set for next thurs 14th. I can't remember the exact details as I threw the flyer from City of Sydney away. The CSPC is apparently scheduled to consider the Hillsong development at the thurs meeting: details are not yet up on the C of S Meetings website.
Incidentally, the development is in Rosebery. Taken in isolation, the design looks quite good to me, but having seen the self-righteous lack of consideration for locals shown by Hillsong in Danks/Young streets, Waterloo, I have serious reservations about the behaviour of those set to inhabit the new buildings. It's hard these days to get any religious buildings up in the city, because the locals will find reasons to object to it. This church is different to others, because it's more an entertainment centre than an actual church, given Hillsong Churches can accomodate thousands of churchgoers each weekend. Very star studded lineup tonight.

Yes, the stated concerns are about traffic and the ability of local streets, therefore, local residents, to cope with the influx of so many people on Rothchild Avenue and feeder roads: Epsom, Botany, Joynton, etc. There is also considerable antipathy to Hillsong as it does not have a good reputation in the area: see above. The site is former industrial and there are industrial buildings west and north but there are also increasing numbers of apartments, eg, Artise, as well as the old established residential area of Rosebery to the south and east.

As i've stated before, i live in Artise and the residents are livid that this proposal will of course be going through, no doubt with further amendments to size and sound-proofing.
The point is that its flock are NOT locals, but bused-in Westies. Its so disgusting that bigoted "religious" (aka God will make you rich and gimme 10% tything) hate-mongerers are allowed tax-free status which then allows them to have so much $$ to splash out. Apparently the local MP, Christina Kenneally is also a Hillsong member? I am just so angry that such religious nutters have such political influence in Australia.
