ARCHIVE: THE PALM JEBEL ALI

NAME: The Palm, Jebel Ali
The Palm Jebel AliThe Palm Jebel Ali is more of an entertainment destination for both adults and children. The island will also be 50% larger than The Palm Jumeirah, and will include six marinas, a 'Sea Village', a water theme park and water homes built on stilts between the fronds and the crescent. Construction began on this island in October 2002 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2007.

PROJECTS ON PALM
Palm Springs ( Apartments )
Sea Village
Marina Mall
Water homes
Safari park and golf course at the base
CREST
Lots of Apartment buildings
-List

The 2 lines of poetry written in the design of Jebel Ali palm by H.H. Sh. Mohammed bin Rashid, roughly translates as:

Take wisdom only from the wise,
Not everyone who rides a horse is a jockey.
It takes a man of vision to write on water,
Great men rise to great challenges.

Marina Mall, Palm Jebel Ali (kinda alienish)

Palm Jebel Ali Trunk (why is there a mirror image of all buildings on each half of the island? It looks like a still from a Sim City game).

Pics from the site:

This place looks like it will attract lizards.

Of course it rhymes in the Arabic text which can be barely read. I didn't know hiring engineers and being able to afford reclaiming land was much of a challenge or vision.

I think this is also on Palm Jebel Ali. I wasn't sure if it was on Jumeira or Jebel Ali, but it is similar in style to the Marina Mall.

I still have resevations about this Palm as its too far from the city, has no support network on the land (ie roads totally inadequit, no infrastructure and factories on the side of jebel Ali). I cant see all the towers happening just yet and I think the city will have to expand past Jebel Ali to alow this development to become integrated into the city as apposed to a stand alone development.

sea village is a water theme park located on the trunk of palm jebel ali. it will contain an aquarium and a whale stadium (killer-whales and dolphins).

it is mentioned in the promotional video on the homepage:
http://www.thepalm.ae/thepalm/

click palm jebel ali / lifestyle / exhilarate / discovery
or
click palm jebel ali / overview / the trunk / sea village

to view the video: click palm jumeirah / overview / trunk / click play video

but i'd say, check out both videos, the mentioned and the one at the overvie page!

By the time the Palm Jebel Ali is finished in 2007... Dubai will be well spread upto Jebel Ali and beyond both development as well as population wise... (considering the rate at which Dubai is growing and the amount of people going there)
