unconventional design (not in a clearly positive way). im sceptical but we'l see how it turns out. Its not among the "bad" category though.

Wonder if they will use a green or blue facade.

I like the design. It reminds me alot of the third tallest building in Malaysia.

not gonna flame it IS a very nice and unique building...

but the assumption that so many people still call it Saigon is just funny. My best friend is from HCMC and he calls it HCMC no matter what... in fact of all the Vietnamese I know only the ones who are anti-communist are nostalgic enough to call it Saigon :-( (or when it's convenient since afterall Saigon IS much easier to say than Ho Chi Minh City) but not everyone's as anti-communist as you think, and sometimes opinions we get from Vietnamese Americans can be quite biased...

It's just like calling New York as New Amsterdam, or Tokyo as Edo, or Beijing as Beiping...

but I do apologize for saying "Deal with it"... it's too flamey :-p

Could you just cut that debate? Go to Emporis, could you even find a high rise in Saigon that has 'HCMC' on its name?

Hmmm. Good news for the Vietnamneze to have a skyscraper in its economical capital city. it realy boosts their power to have prestige projects even tho it isnt high for todays standards. still nice for them to have it.
cheers Vietnam!

I guess by your logic every city must have at least one building naming after the city it's in to justify the city's name... hmm...

this one took one and half a year for the construction to actually begin (after the clearance). firstly scheduled to be finished in late 07,now i think i wont b finished before 2009. And let's pray that the authorities wont cut down its height.

A very futuristic tower for Saigon. This is a good start for Saigon to become
a city that full of skyscraper. I believe that this is only the beginning.
