Seems to be an elevator issue.
That said it's around floor 40. I thought it was 90?

Also, if it was in a construction elevator, there's a pretty good chance of casualties.

It's not at level 40, obviously. The infos of the newspaper are very inccurate.

Yes, that's true (I think). And it's a square aperture, now. Take a look at the first page of the thread.

Doesn't say much. Electricity is always switched off during and after a fire.

It is reported that the fire is started from about 48 flour, and another flour below this one. And it is caused by carelessly welding.

I watched a short footage on french TV, fire and smoke were all the way up on this corner. A lot of damage on cladding. Nothing said about casualties

This is likely to postpone the date of finishing. Let's hope they'll fix things up soon.

This reminds me of what happened about 4 years ago when 2IFC was nearing completion.

Why the windows are broken here if the accident took place on 100th floor or something?

My lame diagnose:
The French media might be right. The whole accident with the elevator did take place on 40th floor or something.
The broken windows are from a column of hot air formed up along the elevator's tunnel, and the smoke on the 100th floor is just exit of that air column.
But if there was a fire seen at the 100th floor (I think I saw some sparks on the video posted by alexanderh, but maybe it's just low quality if the recording), my hypothesis is nothing but crap (unless some light burning scraps flew upward), right
