Mh... really over yet??? Well i was pretty sure there would be any serious damage on the building because it is constructed to withstand such forcees. And these storms are not really unexpected for that region.
Biggest danger at the current status of the construction is that the cladding isnt complete, i think.
Wind still can blow right into the building and in worst case rip parts of the cladding off.
If it's finally closed risk is gone i think

I am here in Shanghai and the typhoon pretty much skipped this entire city. It made landfall South of Shanghai and moved inland over Nanjing and will head out toward Korea. It has been fairly windy today, but even the wind doesn't seem to have been as bad as expected. So, fortunately, progress at the SWFC doesn't appear to have been affected.

Does anyone else wonder if it would look cooler without the goofy hole?

If the hole were circular, I would admired this tower more. Obviously a circular hole is more impressive than a rectangular one.
But nothing can be changed now. It's still a beautiful tower, however.

the structure looks so monolithic.
Whithout the hole it would have been a little bit too oppressing and heavy.
This hole gives an useful lightening.
I liked the circular old circular design more but it is actually really beautiful likewise
