shanghai has definitely one of the best skylines in the world but if it is the best...that lies still in the eye of the viewer .

love that last pic showing pudong from across the bund.

I am sure the SH skyline will be denser given after 5 years. But I certainly don't it to be as dense as the cities in NA, it is just suffocating and stifling with all those buildings surrounding you without any breathing ground.

yes, you are defenetly drunk. That thing is greenish and kind or round on the corners, while citicroup tower has different shades of gray, black and white (and it is a 100 times better, and was built decades bifore..).

Please, drink some coffe then come and write something that actually has any sense...

vader11

But Jin mao & swfc hasn't.
So Shanghai has become the best skyline in the world so quickly?

Common, you can tell us...where did you get it?? Because it was obviously really good to make you say something lay this...

Hope so, right now it looks like it's got a huge funnel crown.

I'm sorry if you misread what I said. I should have made it clearer that I meant the blue boxy citigroup building in Shanghai, the one next to the Aurora building. Though I wasn't clear, I would appreciate it if you don't ridicule me the way you did considering you misinterpreted my comment.

what are you talking about? nyc has alot of modern architecture. and what's great is that it has alot of classical architecture as well as modern architecture too which makes it a great architectural varied city and world class. shanghai's got a lot of incredibly tacky architecture like that oriental pearl thing - weird concrete structure with metal balls. alot of shanghai's buildings are speculative buildings built overnight using cheap cookie-cutter designs. nyc's buildings are well-designed and the city is well-planned. nyc is one classy city.

Why did you even respond to someone questioning NY's skyline? New York and Chicago are neck and neck for the 1 and 2 spots as the best skylines in the world. Nothing else is even close to those 2. Historic, modern, elemental in their structure and built purely out of the American need to adapt to it's greatest invention, the modern city. Nothing that isn't necessary and everything that is. That's why these two climb well above the rest, and will remain that way forever.

Well, thankfully we got that cleared up!

Btw, this isn't city vs. city--in fact that no longer exists. Please do everybody a HUGE favor and leave this thread for those us who are more interested in this particular building rather than insecurities and ***** sizes, that way, we don't have to scroll through pages of juvenile squabbles--unrelated to the topic--to read and post new information. Much obliged.

Shanghai has a large *****. Case settled.

Has there been any reports about repairing fire damage? Or has all the damage been quietly mended already?

Guilty as charged. Sorry. I had heard the support structures would be down within the month. Anybody have a more concrete date?
