how about hongkong ? if you look at googleearth, hongkong is unbeatable. no way any city can beat hongkong in skyline.

I don't want to get involved in a city vs city debate but the idea that Shanghai doesnt have any notible old buildings simpley isnt true. The Bund waterfront on the other side of the Pudong highrise area has some of the best neoclassical/art deco buildings in asia that provide a great contrast to the new skyscrapers.

what I wanted to say is that new york has not got much very modern buildings what I want to say by very modern buildings is buldings like the BofA tower or NY times tower

NY skyline is superb without a doubt but it mainly has buildings that where built before the 90s and shanghai has mainly buildings that where buit after 1990 (BTW I dont see many colorfull skyscrapers in the pic you send) so thats my point of wiew sorry for posting something that has nothing to do with swfc

Just to enlighten you, since you don't seem to have a clue of what you're talking about.
Sure there are a great collection of architecture, both modern and old, in New York, but so there is in Shanghai. Did you know that Shanghai has more art deco buildings than any other city in the world - an architectural style that New York has become famous for?
There are a lot of ugly buildings in every city - both Shanghai and New York has tons of super ugly buildings, but I don't see any tackiness in any of the cities. Perhaps the Pearl Tower, but then again, it's kind of a symbol of Shanghai, and is thereby "forgiven".

When are they going to get the cladding started up again, because I can't see any progress made on it at all for over three weeks.

I don't see anything overly tacky in Shanghai, it has a really cool and modern growing skyline. Btw it may have the most art deco buildings in the world, but NY became famous for its art deco skyscrapers
