No offensive, I like round one better than square one. In my opinion, square one looks little plain but still attractive. I think round one would be very attractive and more challening for years. Oh well...

Don't know if I'm just repeating old info, but I seem to remember that they weren't building it with the circular hole because it was too much like the symbol of the rising sun on the Japanese flag, something the developers were keep to avoid.

Apologies if I'm going over old ground.

Controversy/fuss over the "circular hole" wouldn't have been made to begin with if the developer were from anywhere but Japan...

Yes that was said to be the reason (easier to build), but it's hard to say if that's the only one...

Not a new core, but it's higher for this mechanical level where mass dampers will be installed.

See diagram:

This pic is 20 days old, top of the core is at the moment bottom of level 90 (top of grey stripe).

Air quality was near perfect that day--considering this shot was taken with a 300 mm lens at full zoom and still came this clear.

I don't get this forum sometimes, a pic of a mainland chinese city with the slightest bit of camera-related noise, suddenly becomes a polluted shithole and discussions critizing the air quality inevitably take precendence over the actual topic of thread--yet shots of Los Angeles or Houston blanketed under a cloud of soot and haze get nothing but accolades. Strange logic.

Sorry, off topic.

Hey, that's fine. The pictures really look like the air is not clear. It's definitely not camera noise only. It can be fog or bad air quality or both, but you don't have to take it personnally. And yes, other cities have that too. Of course.

vincent.

I guess you're right . No grounds to dispute about height here . But construction is slowing down a bit now. Can't wait to find better shots for details.
