its been great seeing the progression of SWFC over the last year and its such a great addition to a burgeoning skyline it would simply overwhelm me when along with shanghai centre is built that this is one of the cities of the future great updates there skymyhusband really appreciated

nice they have taken out the 2nd crane completely and the cladding is getting more day by day

I think the top part wil be cladded within 2 weeks

Upper skybridge is almost finished.

Just waiting they take down the second external crane

Anyone know when the Park Hyatt will open?

It still says "Park Hyatt Shanghai, due to open in July 2008, is a sophisticated modern Chinese residence occupying the 79th to 93rd floors of the Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC), otherwise known as "The Vertical Complex City"." on the Park Hyatt website.

then i should open around july..i dunno ..coz swfc is meant to be completely finished by now...but it is not

so might have a slight effect on the hotel opening date too?

I like this angle! And I also really like the Citibank building. They should build an exact copy to the right of it, just twice as tall Cant wait to see the glass finished on SWFC. Too bad it wasn't open when I was there a few weeks ago...

side view of SWFC looks like foster's design for shanghai center, thats why gensler's design was chosen

All elevators have mechanical safety systems to prevent them falling all the way down an elevator shaft.
