WOW!!! The cladding is almost finished. Just a little work around the basement and all the external parts of SWFC will be finished.

Hey, all.

I was actually unsure how exactly to post my first post, as I didn't want to just drop in 'n all. Regardless, I've also got some old photos from summer '07, pictures which, in my opinion, show how the building really redefines Shanghai's (already amazing) skyline. It's a beautiful building.

Out of consideration for all of you, all images will be linked to.

*Note: The Jin Mao/Cloud No. 9 shot seems amazingly bright, however it was just a very long exposure. As far as I remember, I had set it to ~20-30 seconds, meaning that Shanghai does not (fortunately) actually look that bright.

Anyway, the first shot really shows that the close proximity to the Jin Mao tower is no cause for alarm. Shanghai's skyline is not just viewable from one certain place, but from several others as well. Frankly, I partly love the dead on side view even more than a full frontal shot as it shows the elegance and beauty behind it while fitting in absolutely perfectly.

What I would find extremely interesting (and clever in it's own way) if the SWFC filled one of the higher floors with an equally impressive bar as the Cloud 9 in the adjacent building. I would definitely be against letting it sit in a higher place due to the amount of sweetness the Jin Mao Tower has lost to other towers in the area, including the SWFC.

However, two bars in supertalls so close to each other at roughly the same height could only be described as amazing. Then again, if you think about it, the late night workers in the SWFC are going to probably get some depressing looks when they look into the fun atmosphere across the street from them.

I unfortunately didn't find any of CULWULLA's amazing drawings to demonstrate where exactly in the SWFC this would have to be located to be at the same height. Oh well.

That are really nice pictures! Thx for posting, but i had to look up this time because i think at 20-30 seconds the street lights would have blinded the whole picture.

For this purpose, I use more simple programs than Photoshop

Any free quick viewer with good filters can do it (Xnview, Irfanview...).

Yeah, you're right, it really was only four seconds. It's been a while since I had taken the photos and I couldn't actually remember what I had set the timer too (then again, I was also a bit lazy to look it up).

Mind you, the DSC N-2 is a lovely little pocket camera. It's just getting a bit outdated now though.

My word I don't check this thread for a while and the building is almost finished! :o

Are there habitable floors beside where the hole is?
