It always amazes me how either faces of SWFC curves up the structure at perfect angle and shape.

Does anyone know the exact date of the opening of this tower?

The hotel itself is scheduled to be opened some time this month.

Great update. Shanghai pudong still has a lot of empty space for skyscrapers.

^ Fantastic pictures from Shangers - but at street level Pudong is such a planning failure! A comparison with Singapore's Marina Bay is very damning for Shanghai even if Shanghai's actual scrapers are more exciting.

I guess it may do for the time being, I did recently see a render of elevated walkways, a futuristic style freehanging link between buildings, if they get that right, like have enough animation on the transparent walkways at night, that could really look great.

Btw, I am new here, have been lurking a long time, sorry if I am talking b*******
cheers

Nah, the elevated Lujiazui walkway should be under construction as we speak. Hopefully it will turn out good.

So now this monster is almost complete. Funny how the Jin Mao
(one of the top 10 tallest buildings in the world) doesn't look so tall now.
Time for the next chapter to begin... The Shanghai Centre.
Soon the SWFC will not look so tall either...
