I thought shanghai pollution was really bad, but you can even see blue colour of the SWFC clearly from this distance away, wow

Shanghai pollution is not bad at all considering how big the manufacturing industry is around the city. The photo was taken about 5 km away from SWFC on a "normal day" (visibility wise).

I'm not sure the observation deck will open next month. Let's hope for the best.

That grey and the most bottom part of the tower, whats is that made of?

Looks like some stones or huge cubic stones jammed together.

Great pictures. I've never seen the WFC's podium before.

All of the podiums in lujiazui are awful! They should force them to build out to the roads and have outwards facing shops on the ground floor. This part of Pudong is going to be forever dead at street level as there will be nothing to do except take pictures and buy those hideous, inflatable Pearl Tower dildos the hawkers keep pushing at you.

can't agree more. Jinmao's podium is too small and the entrance is kind of shabby. imo they should build a big shopping mall (like KLCC) covering the podiums of Jinmao, SWFC and Shanghai center.

Those two buildings just clash with eachother. There's no relationship between them at all. Anyway, the World trade tower is amazing. How come the circle at the top is now square?

The square was much cheaper and more simple to construct according to KPF, which is why it was changed.
Also, the Shanghai mayor and other critics thought the circle resembled the rising sun of the Japanese flag too much.

Its technically Trapezium to be fair, its chosen because it fits in with the Y shape of the supercolumns or structure altogether

It does feel better.
