The firm told Oriental Morning Post it will try to make the building blend in with the 420-meter-tall Jin Mao Tower and the 492-meter-tall Shanghai World Financial Center nearby.

The Shanghai World Financial Center is now the tallest building in China and it will fully open after the Beijing Olympics, Shanghai Morning Post reported yesterday. Some office sections in the tower are already in use while the hotel and some restaurants will open in September.

However, security checks started early this month, according to the newspaper.

Every taxi and car will be checked before entering the building while people who want to enter the office floors need to pass a metal detector and open their bags for a manual check.

In a city with thousands upon thousands of skyscrapers towers are bound to block each other out once in a while. If you don't like that view I'm sure you can move a little bit to the left or right in order to "unblock" the towers again.

The reason I say that is because they reduced the height of IFC towers from 320m to not block the view of the 2 beauties from the Bund (or at least I heard so), And they still do-it. That was my enigma

We looked at mountains until dawn, and then when dawn came, it was too pretty for me - there was pink and blue and gold, in the sky, and on icy places, brilliant pink and gold flashes, and the snow was colored too, and I said," Oh," and sighed; and each moment was more beautiful than the one before; and I said, " I love you, Momma." Then I fell asleep in her arms.
That was happiness then.

SWFC will open on September 1st according to some guys I spoke to on the site today.

July 31st;

The building that works as the entrance to the observation decks at street level.

You enter this building and take an escalator down underground into a tunnel which leads straight to the dedicated observation decks elevators inside the SWFC - this way the observation deck/tourist part of the building are completely separated from the hotel and office parts.

Bamboo has been planted in different areas around the tower. Looks great together with the stone clad base.
