Five star for that image with a girl. I would recommend it as the best image of the year But please, no image of a half-naked guy.

Why?

Why did Shanghai decide to build China's tallest building right across the street from Jin Mao (the previous tallest building)?

Why not leave a little more space between the two behemoth structures? I feel that the chemistry of the Pudong, Shanghai skyline was better when Jin Mao was the only super-tall in the immediate area surrounding it.

Now, both Jin Mao and SWFC are obstructed--by one another. In addition, their architectural differences make both buildings look silly next to one another.

SWFC: fantastic building, poor location.

Am I sounding unreasonable, or does anyone else feel the way I do?

No way, I think having them side by side is great. They just need to fill in the rest of those grassy areas with taller supertalls to enhance the Pudong cluster.

Here's how I see it. Jin Mao is still considered the most symbollic skyscraper in Shanghai. I but I rather have the SWFC as the tallest building. The building itself has a mighty look

1. SWFC will not be the tallest others will be..they'll come next just wait and see.
2. behemoth structures you say ...those ones are little..you should see Al Burj you'll defenetly change your mind.
3.they'll not obstruct them selves..they will not be alone..others will come..and a Bigger one too
4.we don't care about location we need to build and build them fast

You're not being unreasonable but I disagree with you. Individually they're both excellent designs and I think the contrast in style is great. They only obscure or interfere with each other from two angles and even then they look good together. Some of the best skylines are clusters. To have two or three very tall buildings in the centre surrounded and supported by lesser towers makes for an aesthetically pleasing ensemble. It works in Singapore and LA and I think it will work here too.
