The tower looks awsome.

that picture is an award picure in China because it reflects some part of the life of the ignored group, the construction workers who come from the rural areas. A sheer contrast between skyscrapers and some rural kids.
That's what some of the western media like to portray. Not just through contrast pictures like this one, but also through the use of 'delicate' words like 'ignored' here. Fact is, they were not ignored. Huge efforts have been made improving lives for peasant workers.

In fact, most of them are already better off working in the cities than in their villages. I think some people are just too sentimental: these kids swimming in the river probably feel better than those enjoy computer games in the condos. Come to that, they'd probably rather be 'ignored' so that they can enjoy a bit of swimming on their own.

Anyway, I think it's prohibited swimming in Huangpu, is it not?

You're right - every time I see Hu Jin Tao on the news, he mentions peasants and social equality.

It seems as updates have stopped flowing as often as before. Is there a reason or has construction slowed down because of the core thereby making daily updates too redundant?

Here is the true name

After a long search i've found it..
The name is : Merryland Building' has 41 floors and will be 200m high this is a more recent name the old one was : Moyan808 or also known as Plot B2-5 building
In the center there we have Plot B3-5 building 239 meters, 46 floors and hasn't got an official name yet and and in the far left we have Jasper tower

I wish it's 20m taller, just 20m, seriously when you build something that tall, do 20m justice a consideration?

I know why you wish that. Becuase it can become 492+20= 512m and is 4m taller than the Taipei 101!
But indeed, it can add a 20m spire in order to be taller than the taipei 101. It would be just a piece of cake to do that.

Thanks ssfan, we were missing your updates!

It grows slowly but surely, level 83 now.

There is some activity at the bottom of the building too, the mall takes shape.

The actual reason seems to have been that a circular hole would look too much like the flag of Japan, a country China has a historical feud with.

What's the point in being taller than Taipei 101? I don't really think the 'world's tallest building' is really that amazing anymore seeing how its getting easier and easier to beat. Even if they added more height to the SWFC, it'd only be a matter of time until the Burj Dubai would become the world's tallest anyway.

Just focus on the quality of the already tall enough skyscrapers.
