you're looking at the construction of the hole right now, once they are finshed the steel will be removed

the diagnal beams are indeed structural. However they're thiner because of a lighter load bearing requirement.

No steel beam will be removed... Construction of the top aperture begins above what have been built already.
Currently, cranes are moved on the side of the building fot the hole construction.
