I think it will rise fast until the last section across the two columns. There is not so much to build there.

Now 440+m tall

i like jin mao much better. much interesting design and cladding. the shanghai financial architects ruined what could've been a really cool looking building with that repetitive boring square-mirrored-glass cladding the entire building although the shape is still interesting with that tapered top. they already ruined the building by changing the circular hole to a rectangle.

really? I thought the circular hole looked kinda weird; the rectangle looks more classy to me.

On the other hand, square aperture is more efficient, leaves more usable space, and the design follows nicely the general outline of the building.
I like both designs, now it's OK for the U/C square aperture.
