i think that you are exagerting when saying that Morocco has more golf courses than all arab countries combined because only in dubai there are 8 . only in the small country of emirates there is 15 golf courses ,egypt and saudia have almost 12 each. morocco have 18 golf couses till now and he is the third in africa after south africa and kenya and the first in the arab world in term of number of golf courses

Neither Tunisia nor Algeria has much to offer golfers today, but Tunisia is interested in developing golf as a tourist attraction along the pattern established by Spain and followed by Morocco.

Till now Morocco doesn't have 30 golf courses, perhaps in the near future it will have something close to that . but now it has only 18 golf courses maximum 20 if some golfes opened lately. i agree that the majority of moroccan golfs are of a great quality specialy the one in rabat i guess is the best till now in Morocco, dubai has 8 golf courses and all of them are also of great quality, and abu dhbi has 5 golf courses and not one. anyway check this site

i don't like to argue much about stuff like that because i find it childish, but my comment was intended to wake up some moroccans that thinks that they are the best in everything in africa and arab world, while somethimes is the case sometimes is not .and i think is more healthy to be modest, to have a critical thinking and to travel a little bit around before judging the others , it helps to a have good judgment and also to improve things around, instead of believing every marketing article around.

Work begins on Dubai World's new US$ 350 Million resort project in Morocco

El Jadida (Morocco) - Ground was broken officially in this popular Atlantic coastal town on Monday (25 June) on the first phase of the luxury Mazagan Resort, a US$ 350 million joint venture project that involves Dubai World subsidiary Istithmar PJSC, Kerzner International Holdings Limited, and a cluster of Moroccan Government and private investors.


The Moroccan partners include the Government pension investment fund, CDG Développement, the Moroccan-Emirati investment fund, SOMEDSOMED, and the mutual insurance companies, La Mutuelle Agricole Marocaine d'Assurances and La Mutuelle Centrale Marocaine d'Assurances MAMDA-MCMALa Mutuelle Agricole Marocaine d'Assurances and La Mutuelle Centrale Marocaine d'Assurances MAMDA-MCMA.


Present at the ground breaking event for this unique development was the Prime Minister of Morocco, HE Driss Jettou, and the Minister of Tourism, Craftsmanship and Social Economy, HE Adil Douiri.


Kerzner International Holdings Limited, a leading international developer and operator of destination resorts, and luxury hotels, will develop and manage the Mazagaon Resort, which will span 324 hectares of coastal land (when completed the whole resort will cover 514 hectares) and will feature a 500-room, 1,000-bed five star hotel, multiple restaurants including Mediterranean, Portuguese and Moroccan restaurants, a private lounge club, a club House, a buffet restaurant and five light meal restaurants.


This project will be also incorporate kids clubs for children and teens, fantastic pools, gardens and a lagoon area. The resort's conference centre will house a ballroom for up to 1,000 people, meeting rooms and a board room.


The Gary Player-designed golf club will offer 18-holes of world-class golf along the coastal strip, surrounded by 150 private residential villas spread out among the undulating dunes adjacent to the beach. The Mazagan Resort will also feature a high quality spa and health centre.


El Jadida is a seaport town and popular tourist resort 175 km north of Marrakesh. It was founded by the Portuguese in 1513.


Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman, Dubai World, said: "His Majesty King Mohamed VI and the people of Morocco hold a special place in our hearts. «La première tranche de la station Mazagan sera livrée clefs en main début août 2009», annonce Patrick Sionneau, DG du Resort CO. C’est un record, se félicite le DG puisque les travaux n’ont démarré qu’en juillet 2007. Le timing des constructions est bien respecté pour cette première tranche qui s’étend sur 247 ha.

Le projet est d’envergure. Et les travaux courent 7 jours sur 7. Le chantier dispose de sa propre centrale à béton. Et ce sont dans les 1.500 ouvriers en plus des ingénieurs qui s’activent avec 12 grues. Sans oublier les gros engins de chantier aux déplacements incessants.

L’été prochain ouvriront donc un hôtel 5 étoiles de 500 chambres, 4 grands restaurants et 9 snacks-bars avec ambiance très soft, est-il indiqué. S’ajoutent un centre de conférences pouvant accueillir jusqu’à 1.200 personnes, un casino avec 450 machines à sous et 50 tables ainsi qu’un night-club, le Sanctuary, de très haut standing pour 800 personnes. Dans le centre de divertissement, il est prévu un club pour ados et un kid club pour les enfants, sans oublier une crèche pour la prise en charge des bébés.

Deux lagons artificiels

La station comporte aussi la construction de 150 villas résidentielles autour du golf, en majorité avec vue sur mer. Elles sont prévues sur des superficies variant entre 1.200 et 2.200 m2 avec un bâti d’une moyenne de 650 m2, précise Jalil Abbaoui, directeur technique de la station. L’hôtel luxueux, quant à lui, comprend 32 suites dont 2 royales de 340 m2, 2 suites présidentielles de 180 m2 , 8 de 150 m2 et 20 de 80 m2. La superficie des chambres variera entre 40 et 44 m2, en majorité avec vue sur l’océan.

Deux lagons artificiels de 8.000 et 13.500 m2 sont en construction, indique Abbaoui.

Assurément, la station touristique offrira des divertissements très variés. Les activités visent en grande majorité la clientèle marocaine pour laquelle des prix étudiés seront mis en place, indique, de son côté, Daniel Penet, directeur commercial, marketing et communication. Les clients profiteront des restaurants, mais aussi du casino, du golf, de la discothèque et de l’hébergement. A 80 km de Casablanca, Mazagan Resort offrira, dans un cadre unique au bord de l’océan, toutes les facilités modernes pour traiter des affaires au calme et en toute discrétion, mêlant travail et art de vivre, ajoute Penet.

Par ailleurs, le centre de conférences pourra accueillir des événements de plus de 1.000 personnes. Cette structure bénéficiera d’un plan de développement ambitieux. Des visites et des partenariats sont au programme avec les grands réceptifs et agences de voyages marocaines. Pour l’hébergement, qui est le cœur de l’offre de Mazagan Resort, il fera l’objet d’une grande promotion auprès de la clientèle marocaine. Et pas seulement pour la traditionnelle saison d’été où le climat et la situation géographique d’El Jadida seront de grands atouts, est-il affirmé.

Des offres spécial week-end seront distribuées à Casablanca, Rabat, Fès ou encore Marrakech. Bien sûr, la clientèle internationale fera l’objet d’une active campagne de promotion afin d’attirer au Maroc de nouvelles opportunités et de faire de la région l’un des premiers pôles d’intérêt touristique du pays, dit Penet.

Les différents segments de la clientèle seront l’objet d’un plan marketing précis qui prend en compte la saisonnalité et les spécificités de chaque cible.

Les tour-opérateurs seront approchés dès janvier 2009 en direct et par le biais des bureaux de vente et de représentation de la société Kerzner à travers le monde. Rappelons que l’ensemble du projet de la station Mazagan s’étend sur 514 ha avec 7 kilomètres de côte. Et il est étudié pour se développer en 3 phases sur 10 ans. Le montant d’investissement total est d’environ 6,3 milliards de DH. Et la première phase, qui s’étend sur 247 ha, nécessitera 3,1 milliards de DH.

Kerzner sollicite un accompagnement dans le recrutement pour Mazagan

La présidente du groupe Kerzner, aménageur-développeur du projet touristique «Mazagan Resort» d'El Jadida, Marie-Béatrice Lallemand, a sollicité l'accompagnement du ministère de l'Emploi et de la Formation professionnelle dans le recrutement des ressources humaines nécessaires au lancement de ce projet en octobre prochain. Lors d'une rencontre, jeudi à Rabat, avec Jamal Rhmani, ministre de l'Emploi et de la Formation professionnelle, Mme Lallemand a demandé également un accompagnement dans la formation professionnelle pour la mise en oeuvre de «Mazagan Resort», un projet qui prévoit la création de 1.200 postes d'emploi. Un communiqué du ministère précise que Mme Lallemand a saisi l'occasion de son entrevue avec M. Rhmani pour saluer les efforts déployés par l'ANAPEC. Le groupe Kerzner et l'ANAPEC sont déjà liés par une convention de partenariat. Située sur le littoral atlantique, la station touristique Mazagan est érigée sur environ 500 ha. Elle a une capacité d'accueil de 8.000 lits, dont 4.000 lits hôteliers.

Le groupe Kerzner se donne les moyens de ses ambitions. «Le rêve n’est plus un mirage, il est devenu réalité», a annoncé, à la presse, Sol Kerzner, propriétaire et président directeur général du groupe Kerzner. Ce complexe luxueux de villégiature comprend un hôtel 5 étoiles que les spécialistes mondiaux font déjà figurer au top des établissements côtés dans cette catégorie. L’hôtel comporte 500 chambres dont 2 suites royales, 2 suites présidentielles, 8 suites exécutives ainsi que 20 grandes suites Mazagan. Le Mazagan Resort offre aussi au plaisir de tous les palais 11 restaurants et bars avec un choix gastronomique universel.
