That blank wall is very disconcerting.

Bleh. Nearly everything in that pic is disgusting (even though the pic itself is very nice).

I hear ya. The John Hancock Center and the colorful trees hardly make up for the rest, although the density is kinda nice.

The nicest thing in that pic (other than JHC) is that BMW.

Trib article..
Namesake to open soon in old Dana's location
BY ROBERT MANOR
February 27, 2008

In-room coolers for bottles of wine, see-through bathrooms and reasonably priced mini-bars will be among the amenities offered by the dana hotel and spa, set to open this spring at 660 N. State St.

The dana, with a lowercase "d," is built on the site of the old Dana Hotel, one of the neighborhood's last remnants of turn-of-the-20th-Century architecture. Preservationists were unsuccessful in saving the Dana with a capital "D"; its successor is to open May 28.

The 26-story, 216-room hotel, which cost $60 million to develop, shares some characteristics of other boutique hotels. There is the obligatory sushi bar and a restaurant named ajasteak (again, lowercase "a") that aims to blend the virtues of Asian cuisine and American steakhouses.

Wow - it looks like they may be leaving the concrete unpainted and au naturel. Here's to hoping....
