Two pics from Kungsholmen, taken today. Not the best quality, but the view of the cranes and a growing Stockholm is wonderful.

@Fröding - sweet pics. That part of the city is starting to grow - and eventually become part of the real inner city.

Those old proposals for Riksdan are nasty. Yimby isn't about being for everything new, you know

To bad it still looks like a "residential area" and not a city neighbourhood...

Argh! I honestly jumped! Blimey, I got scared.

The first thing that came to my mind was: USSR!

HORRIBLE. Yay, 60's Communist planning system & architecture is back again.

I always get the feeling they don't really care. Ever. Just another day at work, making another plan, similar to what the colleagues did last time because it sort of worked.

What would you do if you knew real people would live there.. for years, lots of people, people creating dreams and perhaps breed children. And also those just passing by, affected by the environment. I bet you would lay sleepless in the nights, planning the optimal environment all those ppl will spend their life in.

But hey, it's a lot of work to actually make an effort. Right?

Even though I like "kuben" (it actually look pretty cool irl) that part of HS is hopelessly suburban...

That's exactly what's needed after tvärbanan is extended to solna station. It should be much faster to reach lidingö from northern suburbs by tvärbana + switch to roslagsbana/pendel/t-bana than going all the way to t-centralen/östermalmstorg and making 1 or 2 extra switches. And all roslagsbanetrains should stop at frescati including those who goes to Österskär and Kårsta.

Hopefully, this can reduce the chaos at the bottleneck between T-centralen and universitet and also release some of the pressure on T-Centralen/Centralen while it may improve the commuting situation to northern Stockholm before Citybanan is finnished.

^That's pretty much exactly how I want it too, 'cept maybe one more stop at SU so there's one right by the subway and one towards the east end of the campus. One way to do that is open the North entrence to the subway. Oh, and I'd put a stop at Haga Norra.

Some pics from yesterday of the current expansion of Kista Galleria. The part of the mall closest to KST is being extended to be right at the streets around it (plenty of new over-decking of roads below) and turned from 1 floor to 2 floors. I like it.

@AW - love the pics. But that building annoys me every time I see it. It looks great, but whay so small??? that design and location could easily support a twice as tall (and proportionally wider) building!

A rather strange name for a project in Huvudsta, it's called "ingenting" or "nothing"!

Now THAT is densifying and urbanizing a suburb! Excellent!

The name is very logical. The name of that area before they built the 'burb was "Ingentingskogen".

Ingentingskogen? What a wonderful name, I've never heard that before and that explains it.

Yup, before it was Västra Skogen it was Ingentingskogen.

I'm hoping those yellow buildings will eventually get torn down and replaced with more urban blocks. 4 by 5 blocks and a couple more connections across the railways would do wonders.
