This one is the sign with the longest distances in overseas France, as far as I know. Too bad they didn't also show the distance to Saint-Georges de l'Oyapock. It would be something like 450 km.

The longest one that I know of, is 616 km from Kamloops to Prince George via hwy 5/16. Will try to get a pic for proof.

It depends a lot where you are... In this case, this picture was taken in Santarem, North of Brazil, where highways are mostly very poor.

But in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Southern Brazil the roads are mostly good. Specially in Sao Paulo state, where some highways could rivalize to Americans and Europeans ones.

--- I can imagine if this sign was not placed in Santarem, but in Belem... Probably Porto Alegre would be marked as "far than 6000 Km".

I found this picture in Google, the picture was taken in Brazil too, but it shows also places outside Brazil.

The farest city in the sign, Ushuaia, is the most southern city in Argentina, but the city claims the title of the most southern city in the world.
Actually a small city in Chile called Puerto Williams is few quilometers more southern than them.

Cool, but useless. Only Poles can sign Helsinki from the Czech border. Btw, wouldn't it be better to go through the Baltic states?

possibly the longest non-gimmick mileage sign in the US

Excluding the signs at each end of a transcontinental interstate, I believe the farthest distance posted on a mileage sign on a US highway is (was?) in east Texas. When you crossed into Texas from Louisiana on Interstate 10, one of the first signs you encountered was something like:

Orange 6
El Paso 887 (1427km for my non-US friends)

I saw this 15 years ago on a road trip from New Orleans to Austin, but I do not see it when looking around on Google Streetview, and I can't find a picture of the sign anywhere via google, so it may not exist anymore.

There's mileage for Miami in Richmond VA.

I don't have my own pics, and Google Street View doesn't show any Polish road, so I use a picture from this thread

This is probably the longest distance on Polish road signs.

Those are surely wrong, there's more than 193km between Zurich and London.

Check it on Google Earth, a straight line from New Zealand to London goes via Norway and Taymyr, while a straight line from NZ to Zürich goes via Kazakhstan and southern China.

the distance Copenhagen is calculated on which route?

Is it through the Puttgarden-Rödby ferry ?

if so does the distance over the sea include ?

Must be via Puttgarden - Rödby, and the distance between the two ferry ports being included as part of the distance signposted.

The sign is placed closed to the town of Weesp. From there, the alternatives available would reveal other distances:
- via Puttgarden, but with distance at sea being excluded, would be around 760 km
- via Rostock would be 840 or 860 km (depending on how to count distance at sea)
- via Flensburg would be 910 km

OK, interesting.

In Sweden, distance to Copenhagen is only shown on one or two signs close to the Öresund-bridge in Malmö which is situated 17km from Copenhagen.

Oslo-distance is used to be marked on a sign at Järva Krog, Stockholm on the E18. Distance 520km. That was in the 90ies, but now I see they have removed that sign. The new sign shows “Oslo” only.

Overall in Sweden distance-signs are getting fewer, no "feelgood" signs as far I know. This sign outside Stockholm shows the longest distance I know about.

another sign

Probably there is a sign north of Sundsvall bound for Haparanda, but that area is not covered by streetview.

the polish sign showing HELSINKI has no distance ,has someone covered it with a sticker ?
