**** Delaware and Hawaii, I was kinda hoping New York's would be the only non-domed one

Seriously, though, Delaware's is mad nice... and either Hawaii's warrants multiple views or I just don't "get it", haha.

This is what actually makes Alabama's capitol one of the best.

Wisconsin's is the coolest in my opinion because of its location. It sits on the high point of an isthmus between two rather large lakes, and the city is built around it. It also has the largest dome out of all of them. It's only a couple of feet shorter than the national capitol.

If you don't already know it, click here for the map and aerial shot:

The Hawaiʻi State Capitol is an American adaptation of the Bauhaus style called Hawaiian international architecture. It was designed by a partnership between the firms of Belt, Lemon and Lo and John Carl Warnecke and Associates. Unlike other state capitols modeled after the United States Capitol, the Hawaiʻi State Capitol's distinct architectural features symbolize various natural aspects of Hawaiʻi. Among them:

The building is surrounded by a reflecting pool, symbolizing the Pacific Ocean.
The two legislative chambers are cone-shaped, symbolizing volcanoes that formed the Hawaiian Islands.
The columns around the perimeter of the building have shapes resembling coconut trees.
The Capitol is built in an open-air design, allowing sun, wind, and rain to enter; the central rotunda opens to the sky.
There is a reason for the way it looks.

At least its different. The rest of them look nice, but you would have a hard time telling which is which without the titles.

No offense, but the shot of the Alaska state capitol in Juneau doesn't show the entire building.

After looking at all the state capitols, I find that it would be better if a number were designed more originally rather than copy the one in DC.

DC was not first, and doesn't look anything like it did when first constucted. I used to do tours there, fascinating place.

Love CT's, it has the idea of the US Capitol without looking like a clone (like most) ALmost like a castle.

Like DE's too; looks like a mansion.

Like Hawaii's; very different.

SD didnt even try :P
