Clyde Bridges lighting

Anyone know what happened to the feature lighting on the squinty bridge? Hasn't been working for weeks and noticed when crossing the bridge recently that the acutal lights have been removed. On a similar note what happened to the lighting of the Kingston Bridge... never seemed to work for long either!

WHHHHHYYYYY? Why vandalise something like that?

Uggghhhhhhhh.

I love the lighting schemes GCC have been using on the Clyde Bridges - I hope they get new lighting up soon!

TBH, as much as the vandals annoy and disgust me, I'm almost as annoyed at the council..
What the f**k did they think would happen? How many bus shelters need wrecked or railings need bent, or windows need smashed, or walls need tagged, before they realise we have a problem with vandals in this city??

Research the sturdy materials before building the f**ker, you morons!

In fact, I reckon I might start a thread called something like "Inept worksmanship" or something similar, where we can name and shame crappy public realm work in Glasgow. Kind of like the "Keep the scaffolding up" thread, except about anything.
e.g. why oh why is there a plaque at the fountain in Kelvingrove Park crowing about the fountain being refurbished at some expense less than 20 years ago? Money well spent?
Why are utility companies, and council workers, still let away with replacing stone slabs with tarmac??
Why isn't that ridiculous waterfall at Spiers Locks working? We got, what, a fortnight out of that one?
I'll think of more.

The whole scheme on the bridge is a fiasco Milton i live right next to the bridge and am on my community council board, we told GCC time and time again about all of these issues but would they listen noooooo they know best.

Wankers

Hence here comes more tax payers money to be spent on this bridge.

We’ll straighten out Squinty Bridge road fiasco

THE road system at Glasgow's showpiece new bridge is in line for a shake-up - after driving motorists round the bend.

The £20million Squinty Bridge', which links Finnieston to Pacific Quay, only opened seven months ago but already council road chiefs want to spend more money on it so they can change traffic flows.

They are expected to get the green light from councillors to alter traffic lights and road markings and put up new direction signs on the north side of the crossing at Finnieston.

cheers for the replies. anyone know about the kingston bridge lighting? the lighting columns are still there under the bridge so it couldn't have been a temporary installation.

Good stuff. The Kingston Bridge lighting was quite nice, but the lights could have done with being brighter, and cover the sides of the bridge too, not just underneath.

Good news though, cheers David!
