Its the Houston Riviera! LOL I'm just making fun how every coastal region is dubbed some kind of "Riviera". So are most of the "hipsters" you see in these photos people that come from Houston for the day to look at the open ocean?

And where are the obligatory brown water and seaweed shots. In all the pictures of Galveston I've seen the water looks horribly discolored and there is seaweed, is that only in certain sections of town? Maybe that is only right in the heart of the old part of Galveston. Oh and when were these shots taken? Recently or old. Looks very hazy too.

Hey Mello, I'm pretty sure most of the hip visitors are from Houston; well, the fat ones anyway.

I took the photos this Sunday. It started off sunny then the haze started moving in.

Adios

I like Galveston a lot, nice little city, there are so many beautiful old houses and the beach is great.

Hey Carecife, can't compete with Rio, but Galveston's up and comming.

Airsound, I took this pics this sunday, not a weekday. We were also surprised there weren't more people on the beach, but we had a lot of fun.

I love Galveston's old quaint style. Just a nice little getaway. The architecture is quite nice.

Galveston is simply amazing! I love the "old school" architecture and its just amazing how the colors blend in beautiful with their environment!! I am impressed by your photo tours that merit much more praise! Thanks!

The beach and downtown of Galveston for Houston reminds me of Lake Geneva beach and dowtown for Chicago.
