Second Life.. Do you play?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if any of you guys muck around in Second Life?

Some of my mates had been raving about how much fun they have and the new people they meet 'in-world'. I have to admit I found the whole idea a little strange and people who were into to it were quite fanatical.

So on the weekend I created my av and joined Second Life via Bigpond.

*wow*! It totally blew me away! I spent 'in world' (except for dinner break) from 11am Saturday to 5am Sunday morning. Which is truly amaazing given my short attention span!

Second life is a game on the internet in which you play with other players around the world and you can make money by making businesses, etc. The cool thing about it is that from the money you make on the game, you can go onto the 'Linden Exchange' where you can exchange your Second Life cash into real USD. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the exchange rate is 200 Linden Dollars = 1 USD. You need a lot of time on your hands in order to create a successful second life, hence why I can't register because I'm a uni student.

Be careful of games like these, as they can easily consume your life.

I would do it but I obviously don't have a computer or have access to one. My friends and family don't have computers so that makes it a bit hard.

I looked into it but I would probably end up loosing my job because I would play it so much.
