34° is the recommended maximum for Britain.
In Italy, up to 41° is allowed, but handrails infront of each row are recommended for such angles.

Are this 38° the steepest angle you know sercan?
Mestalla and Bernabeu look very steep too in the upper rows.

wow great information ipioe
Never heard that before.
Although new german stadiums has got max. 34° i know that the Siganl iduna Park in Dortmund has got a 37 or 38 tier

Bernabeu was i think max. 40° (3rd tier)
Sorry, no section of the Mestalla, but the steapest i know is Bombanera
1st tier 25°
2nd tier 36°
3rd tier 45°

La Bombanera (scaned from Stadionwelt magazine)

45° is incredible
Do you know if there are handrails in this part of the stadium?

Btw I got the information from a book I rented from the library.
http://www.amazon.com/Stadia-Design-.../dp/0750645342
It's a very good read if you are interested in stadium designs. I found the pages about sightlines particulary useful, since I didn't include them before.

I think stands with over 34° has got handrails.
And IMO Bombanera has got them also

Some things Im wondering about:

It seems like they want to keep the floodlight masts? Whereas they said in the beginning that they would take them down.
It also seems like they keep those removable stands which are placed close to the pitch.
Why would they do that? Cant they built some new concrete ones whilst theyre at it?
And what is the story behind that escalator on the western stand?

IMo its like this
West and East (stands behind the goals) will be demolished and new stands will be built. As you can see they are closer to the pitch and different.
East has got suites

North and South will get a 3rd tier

No, aparently that wont happen.
Maybe that drawing here is a bit older and from a time when they were still planning to rebuilt those stands.
But now they simply will put up a new roof, add a third tier and give it a new exterior.
The building of new stands will be postponed though as far as I know.
And that sucks!

Highbury's North Stand

Does anyone have a copy of the cross section for the North Stand at Highbury (Arsenal FC), which was built in the early 90's? I would appreciate a look at that one if its about!
