Some drunken mathematics for that swimming pool
:![]() Explained: The average white woman is 5'3'' tall. A row makes up 5/8 of her height, 3'3'' (99.06 cm), all we need in the row width, I'm guessing 90cm minimum as this is a Uni with a lot of money to burn. That gives us 47 degrees

It's an older facility so the leg room may not be great, and Ivy league athletic facilities on the whole are nothing special, it's realy acidemics first. Harvard has barely touched their stadium since 1903, Yale and the others are mostly in the same boat. The big public schools tend to devote a lot more time and money to athletics in general.

Estadio Ricardo Saprissa in San Jose Costa Rica is very steep 45 degrees on the east and west stands. I don't have a section plan It was built on 1972. But here are a couple of pictures.

The old main stand is such a pain in the ass! I read somewhere that the facade is protected, but it can easily be integrated in the new stand if you ask me. cfr Heysel stadium

![]() I disagree I think both could average 60,000+ comfortably and think that a 65-70,000 stadium would be fine sure there would probably be a 2/3,000 gaps for the smaller games but there is huge demand for the old firm and European games. It would only be a problem if they charged English ticket prices which are stupid and overpriced for England let alone for the SPL. |

Estadio Olympico (Madrid) has to be one of the best examples of sports architecture ever designed! The majority of the Estadio Olympico - the track and field area - sits in a sunken bowl in the ground with the first tier of seating wrapped around its sides. Towering over this is a huge plate-like tier of seating that sits, tectonic like, on an array of massive curved walls. In between the walls are the staircases scooping the spectators up to their seats in the heavens. Freed of the pressure to provide all the commercial opportunities for money making which blight many stadia around the world, the architects have seized the opportunity to produce a raw, powerful, expressive, elegant and un-compromised architecture representative, in many ways, of the sporting ideal!
