^ I agree, I just had to laugh out loud at his post after all my comments on the messy signs.

Verso, I have already pointed out that sometimes Slovenian distance signs are not arranged well in terms of "far->close" pattern. Everything else, however, seems very well organised than what we have in America. I would invite you to take a ride on the US motorways, so you could get an idea how everything is done here.

Example:

Awesome pictures. And a good chance for me to ask, what's this on the pavement? We have the same thing on the A1 between Karlovac & Bosiljevo, and I always wondered what it is?

Channels for leading off water on screwing (I don't know exact English phrase) of roadway between two opposite curves. They are not so effective as drainage asphalt but they are cheaper to make and maintain.

Ah yes, nice pictures, Verso.

Thanks, guys. Alex, you're absolutely right, I was just surprised at it being the first response after all my bitching about the mess, hehe. Btw, I even think our way of ordering the distances is good, b/c you first look at destination, and then distance; you don't search for distance first. And having lines and all road nos. between different "groups" of destinations would be too complicated IMO, only by bigger cities/towns. I think a simple space between them would be good. A personal question for keber: isn't this section lovely? (if only the gallery was as lovely)

Not very nice, but ok (105 m long).

On the top of the (not very high) hill there is a petrol station and resting place.

excellent question, i allways wanted to ask it!! btw, as much as i remember, at croatian A4 there are at least 3 those things!! and it's good because it makes driver awake if he's falling asleep.

btw, great pix guys!!!!

Motorway here has grade separated lanes.

Looking back ...

Nice view.

He probably just wanted to say he'd always wanted to ask the question. Anyway, those scenes you just posted are excellent, it's just that proximity of houses and slope that make it so cute for me.

This is a joke right?

Way too many destinations here, this is the worst i've seen. 5 - 6 lines are generally considered the absolute maximum, but here are a staggering 11 lines!

The rest of that A2 is very good actually. But this is overdone.

Hehe, yeah, this sign struck me as well. But you see, I'm not hiding anything from you, I show you all, all good, and all shitty. Btw, I'd throw out Brežice, Šmarješke Toplice and Otočec, 4 lines less. =)

Btw, looking at all these signs and destinations on them, it isn't too much to mention how they are pronounced. First of all, Ljubljana is pronounced [lyoo-BLYAH-nah]. In Spanish and Portuguese it's written Liubliana, that could also give you a clue. And the second thing are letters č, š and ž (capital letters Č, Š, Ž). Č is pronounced "ch", š is "sh", and ž is "zh", very simple. In certain cases ž is pronounced as š (sh), but let's not get too deep, hehe.

Dekani tunnel on A1 (last before coast - or first from it as in the video), a bit over 2 km long, driver is driving too fast - 100 km/h allowed and on the wrong lane.

Slovenian tunnels look great, i travelled quite often through the Karavanke Tunnel and it looks very good. I think the motorways look clean and save but they look a bit simple to me. Due to the curves they look more like Expressways IMO.
