NEVER! I think it's idiotic that a computer has to lead me. It's much more fun with a (preferrably Michelin) map, choosing the best and most interesting way, stopping at crossroads and looking at the map etc...

Although I'm sure I could get to any known town or city in Europe without any map

I prefer to use GPS when I need to get somewhere quick and not get lost, but I would use map/atlas when I travel on vacations

* Leave the camera on automatic
* Try to shoot pics on days with as much daylight as possible, this way you don't get so many blurred pics.
* The winter/spring/fall period is not so good, because the low sun, and the less light. The more light you got the better the pics will be.
* Do not use the flasher! Other people will be distracted, think it will be a speed camera, or even become angry.
* It is safer to take pics as a passenger, and try to avoid taking pics while driving at busy roads. Traffic safety must come first.
* Driving south makes the most pics overlighted. Driving North on a clear day is the best. Drive west in the morning, east in the afternoon, because of the sunlight.
Chris, i don´t agree with the most optical zoom, the pictures don´t look real when most optical zoom is used, you emidiatelly recognise that zoom is used and i don´t like this, i try avoiding zoom if possible except when i am in the mountains and want take pics of some far away peaks but i also make a normla phtoo to have an idea of how it really looked there, with most optical zoom the mountains look big and people thing, jeus they have realy big impressive mountains altough they aren´t and it is just the zoom that makes them look like that. The other parts are true but you can correct some lighting problems with different ISO settings.

Well, that's a decision you have to make on your own, but i don't like pics with the interior of my car on it.

To be honest, I think my photos when I used zoom (Ljubljana-Zagreb) were even better from others (when I didn't use it); they weren't so blurry, and I don't know why.

But you have to be aware that the more you zoom in, the bigger chance is to make a picture blurry. I would use it only during broad daylight and just a bit, just not to get the car interior. Secondly, when I shoot pics while driving, I don't look through the viewfinder, and by using the zoom there's a bigger chance to miss the subject...

^ I always watch the screen when shooting, otherwise my photos would be a complete disaster. And I know about the bigger chance for pix to be blurry, but they somehow weren't. You be the judge.

Out of 100 pics, i'd have to throw away like 2, but that's not because of zoom, but the autosharping wasn't fast enough.

It doesn't need to be bumped. When something comes up, the thread will be brought up.

Honestly, I would expect better from a moderator.

It'll be completely finished by 2011. Well technically next year, but over Ljubljana. The direct link over Ptuj will be finished in 2011, 2009 from Maribor to Ptuj then 2011 from Ptuj to the border.

I finally got the time to go through this thread from the beginning to the end in one go

Great job and great freeways and roads all around in Slovenia Of course, 90% of the merit goes to Verso

BTW Verso, what exactly happened to your HDD? I'm interested in the subject... Can you provide some details?

New motorways have to be functional and safe. They don't have to look impresive.
Why Netherland don't build 20 lanes 300meters high 200km long bridge???
It would look impresive.

Motorway construction or even widening is like forbidden here
