It's like that in Slovenia as well, but yellow signs are old, and white signs are new (adjustment to EU standards). The thing is that this changing from yellow to white (once it already was white) isn't such an important issue, so it's altogether gonna take about 10 years (the first white signs were installed already a few years ago).

Not that I'd know of (well, I certainly don't have set on "night scene"). Not that I have some special camera (Olympus μ 410 digital), but it's not easy to take photos while driving.

Ljubljana City, it's ok, if you post some random photos, but I was having in mind a more settled reportages, where I'd drive on all Slovenian highways and take photos of them. I think that would be more in order, having the same highway in one post, plus not seeing the same sections again and again. And when I'm finished with taking photos of all the highways, we'd start putting in random photos, after all, I don't wanna see this thread vegetating for months. I'm planning to go in a different corner of Slovenia every week, so the thread won't die out. I somehow like the idea better.

Just a few comments:

Oh God no, please don't tell me they're actually changing the arrows here as well!

The current ones are much nicer IMO..

Actually, those cameras are used for monitoring traffic (you can check them yourself, at http://www.promet.si/?id=25), I'm not sure they can be used by the Police in investigating car accidents, and they don't cover the whole motorway network in detail, just a couple of sections across the whole network. If they covered the whole network that sign would be useless, since it would have to be put everywhere.

They are only installed on on-ramps, and maybe they just haven't installed them yet on all places; I'm seeing more and more of them...

Are we talking about cameras or the new arrows?

Hehe, if we're talking about the cameras, they won't be installed on all places, just dangerous sections and sections with a lot of traffic. The only places which are fully monitored by security cameras and automated traffic controlling systems (those LED-displays every 500 metres) are currently the sections over Trojane and from Kozina to Koper, which have to be due to the large amount of tunnels and the terrain. However, it's expected that the Ljubljana Ring will be the next section to be upgraded with this "smart motorway" system.

Sorry, won't do it again

About the arrows... Yeah, they changed them 13.1.2007 together with some other traffic signs... http://www.tecajcpp.com/cpp/izrecne.php

I don't like those now arrows either... They're the same like Italian...

Are there many traffic jams in Slovenia?

Only in rush hours and summer, and in and around Ljubljana and other bigger towns (including Koper, but that's more because of tourism by the Adriatic). Here you can see the ammount of traffic in Slovenia in 2005.

Neither. I was talking about SIGNS, depicting a camera and the text "video nadzor prometa".

Actually I meant I like the Italian ones.. Now we're gonna have German arrows on half of the signs (the round blue ones) and Italian arrows on directional signs.. Just great..

Nice photographs! A small but not overcrowded country with lots of nice scenery makes for a fantastic road experience.

Lol, don't worry, this is not a photo forum, but a motorways forum, which means you not only post pics of motorways, but you discuss them as well.
