a)Trst - Reka
b)Postojna - Jelšane (Reka)
c)Maribor - Ptuj - Gruškovlje (Zagreb)....

A) no hope for a long time
B) longterm it is planned
C) tender for executive design is in progress this means that all projects will be finished this year. I believe that first section (of two) could go into construction next year if money will permit.
Problem is that next year Dars needs to repay about 450 mil. € in interests (it gets about 280 mil. € in tolls yearly) and that could mean delay of a year or two in new constructions.

Thanks for the up-dated information.

I took almost 20 year for the motorway (A4) between Maribor and Ptuj.

The fact is that the missing motorway - Ptuj - Gruškovlje - is no larger section. And there are almost no villages on the route of the national road No.9. Only the local highlands of Haloze might get the project a bit more expensive. The progress should be that after Croatia joins EU this year the traffic jams (firstly during that peak time of summer season etc.) will get shorter (no customs checking).....

Good luck!
At least you could be happy about very small steps forward. No compulsory stop at the border in Krvavi potok (I/SLO - what a nice name!) and the idling at the border in Starod is going to be shorter.....And there is the new motorway between Rupa and Rijeka...Keep the faith.

We have talked about this toppic not so long ago. Look at the pages 229, 230

And one quote which says it all:

A4 completion is first on to-do list for Dars, no worry.
Others are H6 completion to Lucija and H5 construction to HR border.
I believe after Croatia joins EU traffic will increase, especially in coastal area. Already now many weekend tourists come from Slovenia, Austria and Italy even outside tourist season.

And direct motorway Trieste-Rijeka is currently out of question until traffic quantity improves drastically.

If you look on the map you will understand why there will never be money for the direct motorway Trieste - Rijeka... and this is all I am allowed to say on a forum like this.

Allowed?

Here we surely don't send people to Guantanamo for saying their own opinion.

crni kal - lanišče - Rijeka

Linking the italo-slovenian riviera (350000 pople) with kvarner-rijeka rergion (300000 people). It's so clear that this two regions HAVE TO grow together and build their future as a macroregion. Koper-Triest is the nearest populated area to rijeka, and Rijeka is the nearest populated area to slovenian litoral/trieste. It's no Udine, it's no ljubljna, and it's no zagreb. these towns/cities have to create their own space and life space (through cooperation and integration).
It's better for each them, it's better for their local citizens and it's of course better for each of the 3 countries involved as a whole.

Im a little bit surprised by some people's attitude here, as in "who gives a s***, it's their problem". We are in 2013, not 1980s.

Though, I do believe Italy and Croatia shall pay the biggest part of such a highway's price. That would be fair enough and a relatively small burdain for everybody at the end of the day. For a big achievement in common interests.

Do you think Italians wanna build another motorway southeast of Trieste? For what, 6,000 AADT?
