I would exclude the coastal expressway and the Lendava bypass from the vignette system. I wouldn't exclude the Šentilj-Ptuj motorway, but I'd finish it to the Croatian border ASAP to justify the vignette there as much as possible (well, it's finally U/C).

at Obrežje - Šentilj route it was complete disaster when only Maribor - Šentilj part was built. now when we have Ptuj - Šentilj, it is only a disaster (15€ for 90km or 0,167€/km - i am counting tour-retour as mostly transit users use it), and when they finish Obrežje - Šentilje route, it will be only expensive motorway with 0,125€/km (similar as that one at HR side)

The Slovenian vignette is sold per week. In reality most vacationers need to buy two weekly or one monthly vignette for a typical 2-3 week vacation in Croatia. Which makes for a rather disproportionate toll for such a short route.

yes. i wanted to say that more reasonable would be extending vignette validity to 10 days

I agree...in every aspect there is always a question what is fair and what is unfair...but then again if we had such a colonial history (and a lots of gold bars in santa's sack) as you guys have, you would probably be cruising all across Slovenia for free - Pro bono

Two or three times. Just don't start writing Saint Giles instead of Šentilj.

That is the plan. So Germans that go though A8 have to pay 2x.

just transit is always expensive. tourism isn't free. For transiting Austria on A10 you will pay 22€ for tunnels plus 8€ vignette, or better 16€ if longer than 10 days, which sums up 38€. But folks at least refuel in Austria now. Most tourists don't even stop in Slovenia, so they only leave exhaust gases here on their way to Croatia. Add to that Croatia's recent opt-out from international arbitration of border dispute over already small slovenian sea, it's clear Slovenia won't provide a free ticket to Croatia.

What do vignettes have to do with the arbitration? We have other ways to punish Croatia (although not many).

Speaking about vignette and tourist transit, how it is possible that the Izola bypass, though divided lane expressway, is in such bad state? Its carriageways still bear yellow endmarkings, just like in old communist Yugoslav times. Not to mention asphalt surface, being in horrible state?

Even these 'not many' ways depend on Frau Merkel.

And not to mention that the Road 11 (Koper to Dragonja) is screwed up with Srgaši temporary roundabaut, which largely contributes to summer queues?
(Don't bother, Road 111 (Jagodje to Kaštel) posesses at least three roundabouts!)

Because it's managed by the Infrastructure Agency, not Dars (although it was widened by Dars in 1999). But it was recently repaved (except a short part by the new H6, I don't know why).

You can thank the locals for that.

-7000 cars
-120 buses

So you think every local road in Australia with 1000 AADT should look better than the A1 Highway connecting eastern and western Australia with 500 AADT through the desert? Traffic density is important, but it's not everything.
