Viaduct Ravbarkomanta will be widened too. Works will continue in spring.
Widening of motorways around Ljubljana is planned but it could require almost one billion Euro just for Ljubljana bypass.

Wow, border crossing Šentilj (SLO-A) has overtaken b.c. Fernetiči (SLO-I) (AADT 20,481 vs. 19,846 vpd). I also assume there will soon be more traffic on A1 north of Maribor than on A5 by Maribor (last year 25,055 vs. 25,562 vpd).

Do not forget that more and more vehicles going into Italy are using border crossing Vrtojba. Ever since the road (A34) on Italian side was reconstructed and made into motorway traffic at Vrtojba has doubled.
Infact, number at Fernetiči has decreased from 2013 (20.892)

A4 near Ptuj (south of Draženci) is still 2+1 lane.

Of course, but even so traffic at Šentilj has increased dramatically, despite requiring both, Slovenian and Austrian vignettes (while b.c. Fernetiči can be crossed for free). If you add 4,153 vpd through the old b.c. Šentilj, it sums up to 24,634 vpd.

Just follow the new regional road, 454. The section to the border crossing won't be completed by autumn 2018.

Actually it still isn't open according to a camera. I have no idea what they did yesterday. I'll let you know when they remove obstacles.

Woooohoooooo
I was impressed how fast everything went, without delays. They really kept their promise, opening the stretch in November 2017.

This will make my frequent business trips between HR and A much more convenient. Hope that the other section is progressing well through the upcoming winter.

Please obay propriate positioning of vehicles on the motorway in cases of congestion.

Specially if you are driving Truck, Bus or Camper.

Rettungsgasse is a commonplace for decades on Austrian and German motorways.

In real life, electronic toll collection was first introduced in Bergen, Norway in 1986, and well into the 21th century many countries still struggle to implement it.

In Slovenia also. We have this rule also a long time. We had it before Austria did

But a little bit of propaganda it never hurt. Because we over and over again have a problem (specially with foreign trucks that don't obay this rules)

And you can also give this informations to yours italian friend, because italian are don't know how to behave when traffic jam in slovenia is. Which is also logical, because they don't know it, because you don't have this rule.
