Hello friends !
In May 2018 I am planning a trip from Bucarest to Venice with a stop in Maribor.
Can you tell me if I understood well:
1.For Slovenia I require a CLASS 2A Viniette (7days will do the trick)=15E
2.From Razdrto to Palmanova(IT) i have two options:
-via E61 to Sežana/border
-Via H4 to Šempeter pri Gorici/border
H4 is a motorway with 100km/h limit,correct(for me it is ok,I drive a small/notsofast car )?
If so,I belive this is a better option,Google Maps says that the 2 roads are preety much the same thing in time and kilometers, but I belive I will also pay less on Italian autobahn.
3.The return trip will be from Tarvisio(IT) to Ratece border-to Jesenice -Ljubljana-...
I went 3 years ago via Karavanke on another trip. Now I suppose that paying a AT viniette+tunnel tax for just 60km of autobahn is not a great deal afterall.
Any advice ?
Thank you !

You're right, the Italian A34 motorway is a bit cheaper than the A4 via Trieste, and the road via Rateče and Kranjska Gora is ok too. You can also visit the nearby Planica with the world's second highest ski-flying hill.

As i have read you are driving a small car, so you need 2A.

All the cars that need 2B vignette are listed here:
https://www.dars.si/Dokumenti/Cestni...vozil_926.aspx

If you will be more than 7 days (be careful - it counts the day you buy + 6 days), so that means if u buy vignette on Saturday its valid till friday and NOT till saturday. So if u will be more than 7 days, its better to buy monthly vignette.

i would suggest also that you buy SLO vignette in Hungary or direct on border crossing Pince ( there is a gas station MOL when u will enter), because after that its a lot of time immediately vignette control.

When i'm driving to italy i always go thought Nova gorica (H4-A34). The car uses less fuel and you pay less toll. And for me the motorway is much more nice, special on italian side and not so much traffic, so there is never a waiting line on toll station on italian side.
Plus dont forget to fill up the tank on slovenian side before entering Italy. In Italy prices for gas are much more expensive as in slovenia.

When you go back, i would go throught Rateče border, because i dont see sence that you pay 9 eur for A vignette + 7,20 toll for tunnel, for 60 km.
The route thought Rateče-kranjska gora is very nice, special the views.
