I've noticed there are now signs for 3 country capitals in Maribor: Ljubljana, Zagreb and now Budapest. Vienna could be too. And let's not forget Murska Sobota.

^ Maybe they didn't wanna have too much traffic running through the intersections, and they made two roads.

actually, the whole combination of the IC, rest/service area and two roads is a bit strange;
and as I remember, when the whole area was still a construction site, it was impossible to figure out, what they are trying to build

I agree, and it's confusing too... all the places and distances are mixed...

Actually they aren't mixed, but there could be lines between them. The logic is to put together places, which are in the same direction. But considering importance I'd arrange them differently; from top to bottom: Ljubljana (very few people go to Graz or Šentilj from A5, so they aren't really important), Celje; Dravograd (still more important than Graz and Šentilj); Maribor (closest destinations appear at the bottom, and as Maribor is closer than Ljubljana and Celje and in the same direction, I don't know why it's written before them); Graz, Šentilj; razcep ((future) junction) Dragučova (the closest destination and common to all of them). You could also add Zagreb and Ptuj, but this would be over the top, and no one here cares for them anyway (but Graz and Šentilj have to be signed, b/c you come directly on the motorway leading there).

Yes, it is the same spot, but at least 15 years later. First shot must be from the beginning of sixties, and second probably around 1980.

Hello Chris

@Keber: I think it should be around 1977. Unfortunately this is the only 'old' picture of Ljulbjana I have. Or I should scan all my old albums

Today there was the largest traffic jam in Slovenia up to now. Two trucks collided and caught fire on A1 on easteren part of LJ and blocked traffic towards Maribor. Motorway was closed for 6,5 hours, which caused tremendeous jams in easteren part of Ljubljana on virtually every street in both directions.

In light of today's football (soccer) match between Croatia and Germany in Klagenfurt, Austria, Croats caused a traffic collapse on Slovenian highways.

And a video with a Croatian bus and a car driving backwards on the western Ljubljana bypass.

Smart move by the Slovenian gov't then, to introduce those rip-off vignettes!

It must take ages for fans to cross the Austrian border then. Austria ignores Schengen during the Euro 2008 tournament, isn't it?

^ Yes, that's correct. Poor Klagenfurt; more fans were there today than its inhabitants.
