The Dutch motorists association has gotten a lot of complaint from travelers who are feeling scammed by the Slovenes because of the € 35 vignette. Well, in fact you can't call this otherwise than a scam. 35 euro's for 2 times 2 hours max on the Slovenian motorways is way too much.

Agree. That sort of cost you pay driving on Austrian A10 and A11. For the same amount of time. Did association complain also?

I don't like Austrian tunnel-tolls, but it's not a scam like in Slovenia, because you pay the tunnels, if you drive from Salzburg to Vienna or from Vienna to Graz and Villach you pay 7,70 € for 10 days. So obviously, you can't compare Austria and Slovenia. And in Austria you have decent national roads if you don't want to pay, for example (the same in France, Italy and so on). In Slovenia it is very difficult to find the alternative. So it's really a rip-off. It would be if there were a short-time vignette, people wouldn't feel scammed.

Why would anyone complain to the Dutch motorists association b/c of the Slovenian vignette?
And why can't people just go through Maribor? It's most probably even faster in times of traffic jams. Btw, I still think Austrian tunnels are a rip-off; why do they have to charge tunnels within Austria? How can they charge two tunnels between the second and third largest cities (Graz and Linz)?

I dont think its a scam. If you dont like it,dont use motorways...they are not like human rights or something...BTW,we even charge truckers for some main roads(same vignette as for motorways)...now that is a scam.

Yeah, like if you drive on a truck on a main road number 86 from Rajka border (SK - H) till Redics (H - SLO) you need a vignette! And the road condition is bad!

So yellow represents motorways and expressways (all of them) where trucks need vignette, and red are ordinary 2-lane roads where trucks need vignette?Stupid new old smily.

This is more like against those who dont want to use motorways(because most truckers obviously will use them anyway,in which case, they must have the vignette),but destroy roads and houses(by vibrations)...

My dear Slovenian friends, I'm planning a short weekend trip to Croatia and I need an advice where to tank LPG in Slovenia. I guess I will run out of LPG somewhere close to Maribor, so is there any website or does anybody know where to refill the tank? Most probably, I will use A1.. Thank you in advance!
BTW, are there any limitations regarding using LPG in Slovenia...? |

LPG is not very popular thing in Slovenia. but in Croatia you can find much more often, at few stations in each city, at each larger station and at a lot of nomral size stations. plus we have one of the cheapest LPG's - 0,45€/l

I know one LPG station in Maribor on Plinarniska Ulica (Gas Street). This station is opened 10.00-18.00.
![]() ![]() Another one on southern part of Ljubljana bypass. ![]() ![]() In Slovena they use dish (italain, czech, polish) connector. Last edited by pmaciej7; July 10th, 2008 at 07:56 PM. |
