I understand. Google just shows lots of Slovenian and Croatian highways as they are now, except the A5 of course. But that's ok. I wasn't sure how long ago that whole section opened, so I didn't know if they have had time to upgrade.

I believe Teleatlas is responsible for mapping. Maybe they haven't updated yet. I believe Teleatlas also provides mapping for the TomTom navigation systems, and I also encountered some roads that were build as expressways but my TomTom says I'm driving through a ranch.

Why is everyone using TomTom's? In cities and towns it is handy, but for long drives maps are way handier. Even my world famous 1978 Rand MacNally has still been used recently
TomTom's get easily stolen, and sometimes they provide the wrong info and it doesn't add anything to your topographical knowledge. Maps4life ![]() But if you want one, it's your choice. I'm getting offtopic

Nah I use TomTom also outside cities, not for navigation, but to see my real speed and time/distance remaining. I noticed numerous strange commands that didn't fit with the actual (permanent) traffic situation. So using common sense is still needed.

Some shots made during my trip to Croatia/Italy last month. Unfortunately, on the way south it was either dark or I was that tired that I did not take any picture. Following few are A1 and A3 made during my attempt to bypass Trieste's traffic jam on the way back:

Am I smoking crack, or...I remember seeing only German-style metal crash barriers in Croatia. But these are different. Like W beams, but fatter. Or are they like the ones in Chechia and Slovakia? OT alert: This belongs in the Croatian thread.

This is electronic signboard (or something like that)! It can show varius messages or signs or arrows or speed limits... I think that somebody must have picture of it when it is in "action"!

Fortunately germany doesn´t only have ugly B type bariers, there are A type barriers all the way in Bayern and also in whole Austria. And also in slovenia, look way better.
