Yes, but the route looks messed up, it must be slow and too long... Here's an example.

A couple of kms is too long. Anyway, if there are no cops around, they won't see you use the roundabout (which isn't an expressway, btw, but Dars built it).

Most probably. But looks like Brussels isn't satisfied with the new proposal either, so let's wait another week or two.

oh my God you guys are really playing with Brussels patients.
1st you introduce only half year and not short period vignette
2nd you introduce overpriced sort time vignette
and now you will abolish half year vignette to force ppl to buy overpriced short term vignette

you are really something special.

PS
including roundabout in vignette system was really masterpiece

Yes, including roundabout in vigniette system is truly a masterpeace. Removing half year vigniette is also so dumb, but I think Brussels will sanction them for doing that.

That roundabout is reason i said "good luck"... As i got it, by the time you see sign you need vignette it is allready too late and i read posts before so i know it was mentioned that it shouldnt require vignette, but DARS keeps insisting fining people on that spot.

And easy for you to say that but i am not sure that in current situation i will get out of it without fine (since i am foreign).

So, yes if your GPS knows for sure where you dont need vignette, than you wont have problem... no good luck for you Laci (if it bugs you :p )

As for introducing new week vignettes, i aploud you! Very well thought of

Look, if you see cops before the roundabout, start turning around and go somewhere else. If you don't see them, but only notice them when you're already in the roundabout, choose another exit and go somewhere else. It can't be that hard IMO.

On what grounds could Brussels get involved and why should they?
If you think tolls are too high, use toll-free roads. If there are too many people who do that and small towns begin to feel the increase in congestion and pollution, something is bound to happen sooner or later.
But IMHO I think most tourists will just eat the price for the toll sticker.

You have to keep in mind that Slovenia is in a similar situation as Switzerland (only 1-year toll stickers available, btw) or Austria. Every summer there are loads of tourists who drive straight through to the south, clogging up the roads and adding to pollution, without spending a single penny. So you can understand they're not wild about accommodating through-traffic.

I agree with what was said about the roundabout, though.

40 CHF is not that similar to 95 €, don't you think so?!

I'm also not happy with Mont Blanc tunnel toll of almost 35 € for one passage only (or similar Frejus tunnel), but Brussel doesn't react to those prices.

Yeah, I heard about that a while ago, I can't believe it. Many objects are overpriced in my opinion, such as the Danish bridges.

Try going through Mont Blanc with a truck, its around 250 € for just one way. Insane price, but EU does not bother with big countries, just smaller ones.

This tunnel was paid off years ago, Slovenian motorways are not. Mont Blanc tunnel brings yearly more money with tolls than all Slovenian motorways toghether.

I dont want to go through Maribor...

THIS is my overall plan:
I want to go on the M7/M70, and want to come on the M1...

(but anyway I go I have to buy hungarian and austrian sticker, and I want to by NO another sticker, so I cross the slovenian corner on local roads... )

One question for Slovenians.
I often go to Gorica/Nova Gorica and it happens to drive through the "Nova Gorica Highway (H4, G12)". I read on the first part of this thread, started in 2007, that it was going to be finished in 1 year... but actually that motorway seems totally "sleeping"... most of bridges and tunnels are done, but still there's that very boring slow part which is like a mountain pass. Any news about what's going on and when it will be finally finished?
Hvala lepa!

It is official Slovenian 15€ vignette will last 10-days. It is compromise between Slovenian government and Brussels.

Opening is planned for July 2009. It is the most expensive and most overdue expressway in Slovenia.

That means barely nothing changed.

Nah you see it in almost all countries with a vignette, they're all trying to rip off tourists by offer 4-day or 10 day vignettes, which means you always have to buy two of those because most people go 14 - 20 days on holiday. However, it suits the local population because it's generally cheaper for them, so they don't complain (I wouldn't either).
