Images from February 4th.

Wallis House getting freshed up:

Demolition of Westgate House. When I passed this weekend only 2-3 storeys were left.

I promise to get some updated photos soon.

Thanks. As I've said before, I always enjoy driving into London along the M4, you really get the impression that you are heading into a big city, with some impressive buildings adjacent to the flyover. I especially like the Glaxosmithkline building, here:

I used to live up that way too. This part of the M4 corridor is very interesting especially from the elevated M4 with the Glaxo building and various other mid rises - it is the main road route into London from Heathrow so I think it deserves spicing up a bit more.

It looks fine from the m4 but at street level it is a hideous place. Mixed use developments like GWQ and the recent built university campus could help things out.

Hehe good point
The Art Deco period was from 1920 till 1939 (acc. to Wikipedia).
It looks like a 1960's hairstyle, except it had a more extreme 'flip'.

I'll go and get some new pics this weekend. I want to take some pics of the whole Brentford "scraper" area, but it's hard to find a good spot, much thanks to the damn M4 flyover... Maybe I'll fake a breakdown on my motorbike. I would love to show you that Canary Wharf can be seen from there.

Take a Mega bus double decker east bound, on top deck at front, on the M4 elevated highway you can see CW, The City, Wembley, etc, etc.. amazing at sunset with the sun bouncing back off 1CS. Did it once but didn't have my cam.

Where exactly is the Audi showroom going? The plot at the Junction of Ealing Rd and A4 just up from Griffin Park?

What about the top of the new Premier Travel Inn (old Vencourt Hotel) in Chiswick/Hammersmith? I know its a bit far out but should be a good vista from 13th floor.

I took a pic of the Audi site too (well, that's what i think it is anyway...). This is north of A4/M4 and right opposite of GWQ. It'll only be 5 storeys or so though.

I think I gave you that info, so if its wrong its my fault

Ive never been on a motorbike I would get frightnened.

Another possible option si to get into one of the Green Dragon Estate Towers (6 x 22 stories...2 seen in the first render). Thats not difficult, but getting shots from the stairwell is not so easy.

They've launched another website, with more images and a promo video of the whole development, inside and outside: http://www.gwq.uk.com/

Well I Thought I should actually add something of worth rather than rude comments now that my Digicam uploads again (I wondered what that wire was for)

I minced on my bike over the this area and amongst other things got molested by a young Asian security guard whilst taking pictures..I said 'thats too big to be a mobile phone'!!

This is the Eastern end of the 'so called' Golden Mile of the London Borough of Hounslow.

The building in the background is derelict, but in the 70's used to be a bedding and fabric store 'Brentfords" Those were my nylon days

The pile driver is for the new 25 storey hbotle featured by Jorgen above.
The whole site is enormous!

I dont know what the plans are for this derelict 12 storey tower.
That earthquake was strong!!

The new University tower in the middle, accomodation on the right and others including GlaxoSmithKlyne Beecham

Becoming a mini cluster

Looking WEst further along the corridor of development

One of the newer buildings

More to come, as tinypic told me to f....off!

Good stuff mulattokid

Yeah, it's not a very nice area on ground level...
A local informed me there will be a champagne bar on top of the Skylon tower.

Hey everyone,
I work at GWQ and will gladly answer any questions you may have about the site.
You may want to know that the "tower" as we call it, will now be 32 stories.
Wallis House will contain 111 luxury appartments. I have some great pictures taken from the top of Wallis House looking across london and over the site. I will post them next time I'm on.
