Can a core that looks to be about 20metres by only 5 metres be strong enough... if it's only 5 metres wide - that's ridiculously thin and wobbly!!

I see numerous websites still listing this as a Spring/Summer 2011 completion... lol.
Will be lucky if they can build 2 floors a week - if that's the case it will only be half way to the top... and then of course it won't be topped-out, glazed or fitted out for 2 more years after that!!! And that's if there's no more delays!!!

The core might look thin in one direction but they have to add the walls on those sides. They will be added with the construction of the floors.

If the core will rise by 2 floors each week without any interruption and the cladding will be started quickly and go up along with the progress- it might be completed in september 2011. However- I doubt that it will happen.

No way! Even if you put 10000 workers there this can never be the case!

That is already a very impressive completion date! I'll be following this one very good as it is the most challenging tower of Dubai Marina.

And I look forward to see some floornumbers showed on the core, so that the count can start...

Once it reaches the 10th floor or so, it could go up at more than 1 floor a week.

Why? 2 floors per week is completely possible with such a narrow building, if they won't encounter any difficulties through the entire construction progress (which obviously won't happen- especially because the structure is pretty complex, and because it's built by humans and not robots).

I could give so much reasons... It has to do with costs too.

But as you can read Bramble says it will be late 2013 and we already should be very happy with that too!

I said that it was theoretically possible- not that it had any chance of happening.

Theoretically it could also be finished in half a year. But we'll never know and never see it.
