Floor plans rock! I'm surprised they chose to create 4BR apartments. They must sell them for a lot of money!

Ha, so they're using sketchup for renders of this tower.
Well I'll guarantee them something. My model will be twice as good as theirs

dubai will only stop if the tourism dosn't take off,the oil is running dry and the big wigs with all the dollars are investing in making dubai the worlds biggest tourist attraction, in hope that the revenue generated will replace the lost revenue when theres no more oil to export.Personally i dont think it will work, due to massive expense. The prices are currently in proportion with the likes of oz, usa, the caribian, and all the places we think of as the next step after europe. But this will change over the next 10 years or so, prices will double to fund the masses of building, and heres why, They will not get away with using cheap foreign labour from the 3rd world, the cost of using western tradesmen will multiply the wage bill alone by 10 fold. The authorities will not turn a blind eye to the way 3rd world labour is used to build for ever, there are fatalities every day there is no safety awareness structure in place for these such people, one day someone will put a stop to this. The spiraling cost which will follow will be crippling.I dont believe for a minute that these workmen will still be used after adequate training because you cannot buy experience and experience cost money in this instance.Thousands of qualified tradesmen from around the world to make this new world to the standards what it needs to be will be one hell of a wage bill.
I am fully aware there is already a superb core of planners , architechs, managers, and so on, but its lower down the ladder which has to be taken care of.

hmm.. i agree to some extent, yet i think that since there is an increasing population in the third world, and believe it or not, life is better here than in those countries (dubai) and with migration rates out of those coutries such as india at an all time high, with a +15 birth rate its certain for some time to come, that labour emloyment in those countries will not be enough, and dubai will seem an attractive opportunity!

I LOVE THIS BUILDING! except the serrated edge. wats up with that! it shud flow into the sky

(render by six453 )
why is Dubai all covered with grass and trees in that render? Are they really planning to do it?

I think that would be very hard to sustain in the middle of the desert, you can't just create an environment when there isn't one
