thanks for True Blue

I am guessing that it is to help fine tine the damping system and to provide valuable data to ensure the load limits are not being exceeded by wind forces, lever arm (moment) being transferred to the piles.

In exteme circumstances when there is a big gust of wind trying to blow the tower down some of the piles may be acting in tension to resist this over turning load. So when in tension the remaining piles farthest from the windward elevation, will now be holding up the weight of the entire building on their own. It would be handy to know if this situation is developing or if the piles are/ or have reached their limit state.

This is a very tall and slender design which is pushing the boundaries of technology. Data from these cells will prove if the engineers have got their sums correct or not

Nice thick caissons and there are 200+ of them going up to 60 - 65 meters deep: more and deeper then even on Burj Dubai's foundations.

BTW the status is not "preparation" anymore, piling is going on so please change to "Ground Work".

Burj Dubai has a much wider base and an aerodynamic shape to control and manipulate the wind flow and minimise the forces, while this tower is a slender structure that relies on foundations to counter all that.
