Well, there are definitely a lot of people in the Arab world who can afford something like this. The only thing is that it's location is not great, many views will be blocked by surrounding 300m and 400m towers and also isn't that close to the marina.

hey guys how u doin?
just got fresh news from a mate whose uncle is a consultant at trident.these will infact be 2 towers 516 meters each fused together using a unique technology creating one single tower.so these are basically 2 X 120 floor towers fused together an analog to this concept would be the W16 engine of the bugatti veyron where to V8's are fused in unison. i also found this news artcile in boomberg: Trident Will Build World's Tallest Residential Tower in Dubai March 13 (Bloomberg) -- Construction of the world's tallest residential tower will start in Dubai by the end of the year, with the 160 apartments each selling for a minimum of $2.4 million. The 516 meter-building (1,693 feet) will have two 120-storey towers, with a total of 160 apartments. Each apartment, known as a pentominium will occupy at least one floor and will have at least 6,500 square feet of space, closely held Trident International Holdings said today at the MIPIM real estate conference in Cannes, France. For more news on real estate in the UAE, see {TNI UAE REL BN <GO>.} http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...d=aDSwRF8H.5Gwscroll down in the middle of the page. |

I agree a million times over, who was the idiot to do such poor planning, of course the final result will still look stunning but it could have been even better if they took these super talls and put them in clusters like u said malec.

Thing is, I don't think anyone expected this. When they lifted the height limits a few years ago who would have thought every developer would want to build 300, 400 and now 500m towers?
