Are you sure about the location for the Pentominium?
I thought it was planned more north of the Marina. The renders I have seen show a big green lawn and park in front of it with no supertalls around. Did they change the location then?

Most of the design renders show a building surrounded by parks and palm trees, but in most cases they're surrounded by other skyscrapers and big roads in reality...
The location mentioned is the real location, for sure.

It seems like if one was going to buy a place below 60 floors in Pentominium, my guess is you are not going to get a good view. Won't the other building block their view?

As much as they will be asking for to buy a place in Pentominium, it would be crazy to pay that much and not get a good view. I bet they will have a hard time selling the lower units.

That photo shows the madness of this so called "tallest block" on the planet. Why on earth did they have to cram in so many tall buildings in this one area, all competing for views, overshadowing each other etc? These are residential towers, not office buildings where it wouldn't have mattered so much.

If you know you probably make lots of money if you build a tower there, wouldn't you build it? Or isn't it as simple as that?

they put the plots so close to eachother so construction workers can easily get around to other sites to say 'what up'

I have an idea! Why don't they put *SKY BRIDGES* toward the top and connect the whole neighborhood.

now you understand perfectly the insanity of dubai. in the 1630s it was tulips in holland, right now it's apartments in dubai.

You mean the "air conditioned road crossings"? Good Grief! We have had those for over 10 years in Japan. That is not really a new concept! But Dubai may want you to think so.....

Well, it is good that they are promoting "Walking" instead of cars. I hope that trend grows. Dubai does have a chance to change their image so this is good news. The final test is to see if you can job around the block in them.

Anyway, it is too bad that another supertall will block much of Pentominium lower views. Also, it is not on the courner of the block so yep....not much ocean view if any at all.

It's going to be such a beautiful building once built! I'm not a fan of Dubai, but this is a very nice, clean looking building.

I could see it being like a whole lot shorter, but in Vancouver.

I was going to say that! It does look a bit like the waterfront of Vancouver Canada.

If you look at the picture again, you will see that Ocean Heights will be the supertall in front of the Pentominium.

Here is some info;
Building: Ocean Heights
Floor Count: 82
Height: 310m

Now, my guess is that any condo in the Pentominium you buy below 310 meters or below 82 floors (assuming the floor height is the same for both buildings), you are not going to get a good ocean view. Correct me if I am wrong!

I can't help thinking they're going to need to drop the price somewhat on those flats below the 60th floor, if all those other buildings are going up around it. It's one thing to promote luxury living in Dubai-- and there are those who will pay top dollar for a flat in this building-- but part of the trappings of luxury living, and paying that kind of premium, is surely the view.
